this well known piece from picasso's "blue period." was this period influence by a bout of ennui or just a great sale on blue paint at the art supply shop? we will never know. in an effort to discover this mystery, the art institute of chicago used some pretty snazzy equipment to examine this painting and discovered two other paintings under this one. what a bargain! three paintings for the price of one.
