larry and gretchen took me on a fascinating trip up the oregon coast. we relaxed on the beach and admired the aptly named haystack rock. of course i had to investigate the cannons on cannon beach with my monkey host.

traveler's tip: do not sit inside of any cannons without a complete safety inspection to determine that they are nonfunctional. one unfortunate cannon incident can really put a damper on a an otherwise lovely trip.
