my pals willow and fifer tell me that the custom of celebrating groundhog day was started in europe long before it was officially turned into the huge holiday it is here in the states. hedgehogs, like my friends, and the occasional bear was observed at candelmas to determine if there would be an early spring or if winter would last a bit longer. i'm sure they make nice snacks and delicious beverages to accompany witty conversation. willow says silk worms are their favorite snacks. ick! please don't tell my silk worm friends!
