new orleans: the crescent city

me and a tasty and crisp croissent i was surprised to find
out that that the moniker
"crescent city" was not
bestowed upon the town because of the
population's high
croissant consumption.
hard to believe,
but they it was given
the name because
of the crescent shape
of the city as it
fans out between
the shores of lake
charles and the
missisippi river.
me and a map of new orleans which is not as crispy as a croissent.
still, you can't help but enjoy a nice crispy croissant
now and then at la madeleine on jackson square - a restaurant founded in dallas, texas by a nice french guy named patrick esquerre. is this city international or what?
